Course description: The purpose of this course is to provide the students with the knowledge, skills and techniques of policy formulation and gender sensitive planning. The aim of this course is two folds.To introduce the students to gender concepts in policy and  planning. The focus here is on theoretical aspects of mainstraming gender into national policies, programmes and projects .To train the students in skills and techniques of project planning, implementation evaluation and budgeting.The focus here is on the project cycle analysis and on the  formulation of development projects and programmes;in general of mainstreaming gender. Therefore, it is aimed that this course will equip the students with the knowledge and analytical skills concerning the design, monitoring , evaluation of various types of projects, gender  statistics and budgets. Experiences and case studies of projects in Sudan and in other countries will be examined.
